Coventry City
Bottom of League One and despite their first win tonight in a sky blue moon, 14 points adrift and a cert for "Division 4" in old money..

7500 at the Ricoh; not so long ago they were with us in "Division 1.".

Blimey - sobering that such a demise can actually happen.

A mate out here is a Cov fan, the things he's told me about the mis managment since the High Field rd days to now makes West Ham look like its run like Microsft in comparison.

I remember watching us play Coventry when they were an established PL side. Sobering and should be a warning of what can happen, but I don't see this fate for our club.

Could have easily been us.

Careful what you wish for.

Jimmy Hill will be turning in his grave.

And could so easily have been us going down this road, recovery would have taken years if at all, cunt he Daves all you want but had they not taken over..................and i dont think Tony Fernandez would have done any better than he currently is with destroying QPR.

87 cup final, Keith Houchen's diving header, Spurs on their knees and probably the most entertaining Cup Final I can remember as a neutral.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Coventry City until Richard Keys came along.

Re: Coventry City
You could argue they have gone back to where they were before Jimmy Hill revolutionised them and they were always a borderline top league club.
That league (always Division 3 to me) has Sheffield Utd, Bolton, Bradford, Charlton, the team that used to be Wimbledon , Oldham & Swindon who have all been in the top division in living memory.

I bet they were told the Ricoh was their NEXT LEVEL stadium as well.

Agree that the 1987 FA Cup final was the most enjoyable involving other teams. Hopefully it will be celebrated long and hard with a 12 hour documentary and national rejoicing on its 30th anniversary

Re: Coventry City
That Ernie Hunt goal is one of the greatest of all time IMO, didnt they ban it from happening again after he and Willie Carr did it though? thats why its never been seen since.

Ernie Hunt ended up running a Pub near Hereford, went there years ago, he hadnt changed, just a bit fatter.........

Really sad state of affairs, remember going to Highfield road in late 90's.

I think they ruled that flicking it up with your heels like that wasn't playing the ball.
Which is nonsense really
